To our members: a letter from Bryce Kramer, CEO
Biggar and District Credit Union has always put a strong emphasis on the cooperative principle of Community. Every decision we make keeps the communities, and our members who call those communities “home”, top of mind. Recently the board of directors made the decision to change the hours of operation at our branches in Perdue and Landis. I realize that this change may come as a surprise, and I want to assure you that this decision was not made lightly.
As we continue to focus on delivering high-quality financial services, we believe that adjusting our hours will allow us to manage staffing and resources more effectively and ensure we are able to maintain the level of expertise and personalized service our members deserve.
Please know that your continued trust and support is incredibly important to us. We are constantly evaluating how we can best serve you, and we remain dedicated to supporting you and your financial goals in the years ahead.
Although our hours in the branches may be reducing, our commitment to the communities is unchanged. Together we can continue to build better communities.
We included a brochure with this letter explaining what you can expect with this change. If you have further questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out to our team or to me personally. We are here to help, and we greatly appreciate your understanding and ongoing support.
Sincerely,
Bryce Kramer
Chief Executive Officer
Biggar and District Credit Union
You have questions?
Our members and the communities they call home, is always top of mind. Making a decision to reduce hours isn’t an easy one. Here are the reasons why we decided to take this step.
- We value the quality service we provide to our members. An increase in maternity leaves and retirements are making it difficult to ensure trained staff are in the branches.
- We are proud to be the Employer of Choice in the communities we serve, and we want to continue to focus on our staff so that they can provide the excellent service you’ve come to expect from us.
- Almost all staff travel to the branches. The weather and other challenges make it increasingly difficult to manage coverage for the branches.
- We are constantly looking for efficiencies to continue to improve our service to you.
- We love to have you come in to the branch, but you can also do your banking online by using our online banking and mobile app. Please reach out to us if you are not set up for online banking, and we'll make sure to set you up so you have access to your accounts 24/7.
- You can make use of the Night Deposit box at the branches. If you've never used it, please let us know and we'll explain the process to you.
- We have branches in Biggar, Landis, and Perdue, and you can do your banking at any of the three. The ATM in Biggar is available 24/7.
- Support various community groups through donations and promotions.
- Provide scholarships to grade 12 students.
- Provide financial literacy programs to community members and students.
- Organize the Community Clean Up events.
- Our staff will continue to identify groups in the communities to support with their donations when they dress down on a Friday as part of their Casual for a Cause initiative.
- Talk to any of our staff at any of the branches.
